ELECTION ALERT: Tea Party Express Endorses Three Conservatives for Congress in Texas
SACRAMENTO, CA: Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is pleased to announce its endorsements of three outstanding conservatives for Congress in the Greater Houston area: Wesley Hunt in the Seventh District, Rep. Michael McCaul in the 10th District, and Sheriff Troy Nehls in the 22nd District.
Tea Party Express Co-Founder and Chief Strategist Sal Russo said, “The polls are showing close races in these critical Texas Congressional seats. With early voting beginning October 13, it is important for conservatives to mobilize and get out the vote. Our country’s future is at stake perhaps more now than in any recent election, and we need conservatives like Wesley Hunt, Michael McCaul and Troy Nehls in Congress fighting for economic prosperity and limited government.
7th District: “Rep. Lizzie Fletcher claimed to be a moderate in order to get elected, but when she arrived in Washington she turned around and voted with Nancy Pelosi 99% of the time. That isn’t fair to voters who expect integrity and character from their representative, and that is exactly what they will get from Wesley Hunt in Congress. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point who spent eight years on active duty as an Army officer, Wesley is a proven leader who is not afraid of tough challenges. Whether it’s getting our economy back on track, making the middle-class tax cuts permanent, or eliminating the excessive waste in government, he will always fight for commonsense policies that help every Texan achieve the American Dream. And above all, the voters will always know exactly where he stands.
10th District: “With a proven record of reaching across party lines to get things done, Rep. Michael McCaul is one of the most effective members of Congress. From working to protect Houston from catastrophic flooding to pursuing policies that bring more jobs to Texas, he has worked with his colleagues to deliver results for the communities he represents. The former Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and the ranking Republican on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael has worked to keep America safe from threats at home and abroad. And he has fought to ensure Texas’ economy remains strong by supporting lower taxes for hard working families and making regulations more reasonable for the people who have to live with them. His sensible leadership and commitment to his constituents set him apart among his colleagues, and he deserves reelection.
22nd District: “Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls is running to replace retiring conservative Rep. Pete Olson, who has honorably served the 22nd District for the past 10 years. Troy’s dedication to public service began at age 19, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and began a 21-year career that included deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Upon returning home, he began a career in law enforcement that culminated with his election as Sheriff of Fort Bend County in 2012. As Sheriff, Troy strictly controlled the department’s budget to protect local taxpayers, reduced violent crime, and began a program to provide nonviolent offenders with job skills to turn their lives around. His commonsense leadership and commitment to limited government are exactly what is needed to turn our economy around and clean up the mess in Washington.
“The Democrats are prepared to spend millions of dollars on advertising in the final weeks before the election to win these three critical House races. That could lead to a disastrous scenario with Congress enacting ridiculous socialist schemes like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All that would bankrupt the federal government. The Democrats, led by their presidential nominee Joe Biden, have already promised excessive new taxes and burdensome regulations that would strangle our economy. They continue to be nearly silent about the violence and destruction that has plagued our communities and refuse to provide the steadfast support our law enforcement men and women need. Texans are hardworking people who value their way of life, and they deserve better than that. We encourage them to get out and vote for commonsense conservative leaders Wesley Hunt, Michael McCaul, and Troy Nehls,” Russo concluded.
